POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Family Medicine provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care including some after-hours call responsibilities. Family physicians admit patients not requiring obstetrics, surgery intensive care or acute psychiatric care. The scope of practice includes pediatrics, general medicine and geriatrics with consultant support. Excellent specialty back-ups are available.

L’Hôpital de Moncton est un établissement de soins tertiaires et de soins intensifs de 386 lits qui relève du Réseau de santé Horizon. Cet hôpital est un centre d’aiguillage majeur pour les populations du Nouveau-Brunswick, de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard et du nord de la Nouvelle-Écosse. L’établissement est également un centre de traumatologie de niveau II offrant des services tertiaires en neurochirurgie, en oncologie et en soins néonatals ainsi que la totalité des autres sous-spécialités et services majeurs. Le Service de médecine familiale accueille les patients qui n’ont pas besoin de services d’obstétrique, de soins intensifs chirurgicaux ou de soins psychiatriques de courte durée. Le champ d’exercice du service englobe la pédiatrie, la médecine générale et la gériatrie avec services de consultation.
L’Hôpital de Moncton, qui propose d’excellentes possibilités d’enseignement et de recherche clinique, est partenaire du programme de médecine de l’Université Dalhousie. L’Hôpital de Moncton compte quelque 3 000 employés et médecins, ce qui en fait l’un des plus importants employeurs du Grand Moncton.
REMUNERATION:
Standard remuneration is fee-for-service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. No source deductions can be provided. However, under special circumstances, with approval from the Department of Health of New Brunswick, a salaried model may be available. This may range between a minimum of $182,936 to a maximum of $199,680 annually (excluding benefits and source deductions) based on qualifications and experience. Locums receive 10% in lieu of benefits. On call remuneration is fee-for-service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a valid license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Must be a member in good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- Must be a licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC).
- Must have a current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association appropriate to the category of practice.
- Must be eligible for membership in the Department of Family Medicine.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Excellent attendance and work record.
