Horizon Health Network, Saint John area (Region 2), is actively seeking a full-time locum Hematologist.  The physician will be joining a group of two (2) Hematologists, 2 Malignant Hematology nurses, 1 Benign Hematology nurse, 3 Apheresis Nurses, 2 Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) Nurse Coordinators, 1 SCT Pharmacist, and 1 Anticoagulation Clinic Pharmacist.
The candidate will be participating in Outpatient Benign and Malignant Hematology Clinics, weekday inpatient consults, Apheresis Unit, and Malignant Hematology Inpatient Service. There is also shared Heme-Onc cal. There is also an opportunity to provide support to our Internal Medicine Teaching Unit as well as call coverage for Internal Medicine.
The Saint John Regional Hospital is a tertiary care hospital associated with Dalhousie University and Halifax. It is the Provincial Stem Cell Transplantation Centre. The SJRH is also the Provincial Apheresis Centre. Tertiary care medical and allied health departments fully support the department of Hematology in the management of Malignant Hematologic Disorders (Acute and Chronic Leukemic, MDS, MPN, Lymphomas, Plasma Cell Disorders), Autologous Stem Cell Transplants, and Benign Hematologic Disorders (Bleeding Disorders, Thrombotic Disorders). He Hematology Program is supported by 3 Hematopathologists and a wide range of testing facilities (Flow Cytometry, FISH, Cytogeneitcs, Next Generation Sequencing),

HOURS OF WORK: JOB DUTIES:
These responsibilities are basic.  Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of Horizon Health Network:
REMUNERATION:
This is a salaried position, remuneration is based on the New Brunswick Medical Pay Plan.  The current rates range between $227,786 to a maximum of $276,900 annually (locums receive 10% of the base salary in lieu of benefits) based on qualifications and experience. On call remuneration is Fee-For-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare New Brunswick.
